This project features a poster series for a fictional event showcasing poetry by Russell Atkins, Kari Gunter-Seymour, and Yalie Saweda Kamara. The series highlights the connection between their works while visually expressing each poet’s unique voice and perspective through typography.

Method Process
This poster series utilizes free play by printing and layering words the poets repeat in their work before photographing and editing the text in Photoshop. By layering the text on top of each other, it creates an emphasis on those words, much like how the poets use repetition to emphasize those words to draw attention to aspects of their lives they had no control over.
