Zoots

Overview
Zoots is a hypothetical jazz club based in Brooklyn, New York. From the moment you step through the entrance, you're surrounded by a warm and inviting atmosphere that pays loving homage to music, theater, and its inspiration, “The Muppets“.

embodying the club’s commitment to blending jazz music with lighthearted fun. Tying into each of the core values of Zoots, I wanted the logo to feel handcrafted, while still having a timeless and expressive appearence. Opting to use a brush marker, I chose to freehand my logo, drawing inspiration to their logo, handwritting, and felt. While not intentional, my final design was chosen having an expression of its own.

Hotline: Design For America Sprint
Spring 2025 | Design Research | Design Thinking | Ideation | Prototyping |
Design for America (DFA) is a national organization that utilizes fast-paced, human-centered design sprints to create social impact in our communities.
Objective
This semester, we partnered with Africa Fire Mission (AFM), a nonprofit supporting firefighters in developing African communities. Our goal was to aid in developing engaging communication materials and strategies that strengthen their recruitment efforts.
Collaborators: Ben Cullens, Luke Rammel, and Lily Watson.
Immerse
We began by immersing ourselves in AFM to build a primary research/interview guide with the questions brought up during our secondary research.
Primary Research
We had the opportunity to interview AFM leadership and firefighters involved with AFM to gain valuable insight on how AFM supports firefighters through community connection and engagement.
Reframe
Creating "How Might We" statements to narrow down our idea as specifically as we can to focus on a feasible problem space before ideation begins.
Concept Development Final Concept
"Hotline" is a pen pal system built into AFM's registration site, pairing AFM volunteers with local firefighters to share stories and build connections before the mission begins, fostering understanding, readiness, and trust.

Overview
During my Creativity & Concept Development work experience, I focused on the importance of user-centered design. When narrowing down my personal project, I reflected on how my siblings and I would improvise when toy furniture broke or went missing, crafting replacements to keep our dolls’ storylines going. This resourcefulness inspired my project: creating imaginative, DIY play solutions that are accessible and designed with creativity in mind.
Research
When first conceptualizing my project, an important step in my research was to look into my target demographic (caretakers and children age 3-9) . My research included looking into trends in children's interior design, color preferences, and how imaginative play develops fine motor development.
I chose the toy, Calico Critters, as the backbone of my project as not only were they one of my favorite toys growing up, but they also represent the kind of imaginative and open-ended play that encourages storytelling, empathy, and creativity in children.
Concept development
My initial concept featured perforated furniture built into the box, but I later shifted to stencils and trading-card-style pattern packs, as they encourage more creativity and help younger children develop fine motor skills through tracing and cutting.

Overview
In the summer of 2022, I collaborated with Charlotte Frogget and Lexi Kulman at the Ringling College of Art and Design to create Unique Eats, a mock brand and app that helps parents filter restaurant menus for allergy and aversion-friendly meals. I chose to return to this project in 2025 to address the need for more inclusive dining experiences, inspired by my mom, Deborah Binkis, whose Type II diabetes and Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) diagnoses made dining out increasingly challenging.
Research
My research involved analyzing a range of existing apps, from food delivery services to health and wellness platforms, while also exploring common aesthetics in food-related app design.Apps: Fooducate, Lose it!, My Fitness Pal, Ihealth, GrubHub, Mysugr, Viome, Lifesum, Foody, Bowelle, Mealime
Insights
Most of these apps focus on individualized health data
Color Palette is colorful yet minimal
Each app uses an intuitive interface that prioritizes ease with each use
Users can set up health goals and can be offered tailored suggestions and resources
to support them

Through exploration, I chose to rename my App from "Unique Eats" to Savra, a play on the word savor. The new name reflects the app’s evolved purpose: helping users not just discover meals that meet their needs, but to truly savor food with confidence and intention.

Magnus Home Products
Fall 2025 Co-Operative Education Experience | Motion | 3D Modeling | Graphic Design |
For my second co-op experience, I worked as a Graphic Design Intern at Magnus Home Products in Erlanger, Kentucky. My responsibilities included: making graphics, editing product photos, creating animated videos, and 3-D scanning and modeling products.Graphics Logo designs for Budget and diy kitchen and bathroom products featured on their website product descriptions. Motion & Video Advertising
A large portion of my co-op involved making video content, including buying guides, informational videos, and setting up the format for customer reviews or “Magnus Moments”.
3D Scanning & Modeling
Created precise 3d scans using a MIRACO 3D scanner and the program Blender. I 3D model at my job so we can create CG models of sinks and bathtubs in a real-world setting. That way, we can get good quality shots, consistent angles amongst products, and be efficient so as not to have to build and switch out bathroom sets constantly.
