Method
The goal was to embody the meaning of the haiku on the repetitive nature of creation and destruction that comes with being an artist, with the end having something undeniably beautiful. To display this, earlier spreads have sharper shapes with more chaos then slowly transitioning into rounder and less busy spreads. The words of the haiku are also scattered throughout the pages to further push the idea.
Application
Color Method
The use of color on the last spread also pushes this idea not only to tie into the poppy in a non-literal way but also to represent the moment when a project finally "comes together" as it contrasts with the Black and white throughout the haiku which plays into the idea of using graphite and redrawing and erasing your work.
